Levitra is used to relax muscles and it can also increase the blood pressure into the penis during sexual stimulation as it is phosphodiesterase inhibitor. It can be used to achieve and maintain an erection.

Important information about Levitra

Levitra should not be taken if you are taking nitrate drug for chest pain or heart problem as it includes nitroglycerin, issorbide mononitrate and isosorbide dinitrate. You can also find nitrate in some recreational drugs. There can be some serious low blood pressure which can lead to fainting or heart attack if you take this medication with nitrate. You should stop and call your doctor if you become dizzy, or have numbness, tingling in chest, arm or neck. LEvitra should be taken only once day and there should be 24 hours passed between two doses. If there is painful erection or erection lasts for more than 4 hours then you should contact your doctor and prolonged erection can damage your penis.

There can be decrease in blood pressure to the optic nerve of the eye which can cause sudden vision loss. Contact your doctor immediately for medical help if there is sudden vision loss.

Before taking Levitra

You should tell your doctor if you are allergic to this medication before taking Levitra. You should also inform doctor if you have hear disease, heart attack history, blood clots, angina, kidney problem, liver disease, blood cell disorder, stomach ulcer or bleeding disorder. There should be dose adjustments or special in any of these conditions.

The pregnant women should not take this medication. You can use this levitra after consulting your doctor. You should not use this medication if you are a breast feeding a baby. If you are older than 65 year then you may need to lower dose of this medication.

How should I take Levitra?

Levitra should be taken as it is prescribed. Larger amount of this medicine should not be taken. This medication should be taken with a full glass of water. You can take Levitra with or without food. This medication is usually taken before sexual activity when it is needed. This medication should be stored at room temperature.

What happens if I miss a dose?

There is no any dosing schdule of the Levitra as it is used when it is needed.

What happens if I overdose?

You should get medical help if you have taken overdose of this medication. There can be back pain, muscle pain or vision problems in case you have taken overdose of Levitra.

What should I avoid while taking Levitra?

You should avoid drinking alcohol as it can increase some side effects of Levitra. There can be interaction of grapefruit or its juice with Levitra therefore discuss its use with levitra with your doctor. The amount of grapefruit should not be increased or decreased in your diet without telling your doctor. You should also avoid use of other medicine to treat impotence.

Levitra Side Effects

You should get an emergency help if you have hives, difficulty in breathing, swelling of your face, lips and tongue. If you have pain, numbness, tingling in your arms, neck or jaws or if you feel dizzy during sexual activity then you should stop and contact your doctor immediately. You should get emergecny medical help in case you have sudden vision loss, sudden hearing loss, ill feeling, irregular heartbeat, shortness of breath, vision changes, light headed feeling or fainting. Some less serious side effects of Levitra can be stuffy nose, headache, upset stomach, back pain or memory problems.

What other drugs will affect Levitra?

You should tell your doctor if you are using other medication for erectile dysfunction like conivapmtan, diclofenca, enoxacin, anti biotics, anti depressants, hear or blood pressure medicines. This medicine should be used by ther persons who are perscribed for it.
